This lady presented to Dr. Sorokin only months after surgery by another plastic surgeon in Southern New Jersey. She was very upset with her result. Her biggest complaint was the asymmetry and the different size and shape of her breasts. She had saline implants and could feel the shell of the implant through her skin as well as see the shell rippling above her nipple on the left side. She remarked that when she talked to her husband about the problems she was having he told her that this was an excellent result. After discussing revision options with Dr. Sorokin she decided to have a revision performed. She was referred to NJ breast enhancement cosmetic surgeon Dr Evan Sorokin by a friend who loved her own result. Dr. Sorokin discussed her options as follows: First of all, she clearly needed a breast lift to address the asymmetry. Many women end up in Dr. Sorokin's office after other surgeons promise them great results with an implant alone when indeed they need a lift. This is a common reason women end up with a second breast surgery. Dr. Sorokin understands that many women do not want the scars of a mastopexy. He also tries to explain to women that often the scars are a worthwhile tradeoff to having a dissatisfactory shape. The next issue was the rippling and palpability of the implants. In order to address this, she would be switched to silicone gel implants. Finally, some liposuction could be performed on the lateral edge of her breast/chest wall to address the "bra fat" that so many women do not like. She is shown her approximately 6 months after her surgery. She is delighted with her result. Symmetry is much improved and both she and her husband love the feel of the silicone gel implants compared to her salines.
